At this point, I was so close to finally finishing this boat after the HURRICANES were through with us here in FL!  I had some close calls with a neighbors tree that missed my boat by a few feet. Lost some major parts of my own trees as well. Seems I picked the right spot afterall because it is the only spot that was really missed by falling limbs. Now I am extra thankful we havent had a direct hit if what we did get was any indication.

Yes,the hurricanes. We took a bit of a beating this year and not having this on a trailer to take it to safety was indeed a bit tough on the nerves. Especially with these huge Live Oaks I have all around it. Visions of matchstick sized pieces of my project haunted me for days. Fortunately, the "logs" missed it. And I mean "just". I had to take the canopy off the tent and cover the boat with a polytarp and even with a ridge pole set up fore to aft the rain still couldnt run off of it fast enough. There i was,in the dark, getting the lake out of the tarp before it caved in. It rained so hard it took the clearcoat off of the toyota's hood.

Need to add a perch for the tank

Here is the console post. It is to have a chair that slides under it with a plug in backrest so that it will all fit under the console. Plenty of room to get by it even in a hurry. I wanted to be able to put my feet partway under it so I didnt have to have my seat so far back. When I see leaning posts/chairs installed in alot of boats you cant use it for both because you end up hunched over when you try to use it as a seat. This will just be for sitting.I will stand up otherwise. The front passenger seat will have rubber crutch feet on the pipe legs and be held in place with a turnbuckle. The captain chair wll be permanently mounted. I will build these as soon as i get a chance at work. Also, the front seat will be able to be moved to the upper fore deck for sitting/fishing. I may put a cushiom on the aft deck hatch.

I didn't add the inside corner blocks to the motorwell. This just seemed problematic to have all those joints there. Instead,I added them on the inside of the boat creating a interlocked corner. The raised aft deck acts as a huge gusset anyway and the motorwell is double thickness on the sides from the top down to just below where the deck framing is fastened to it. It is very  stout. All the parts did fit on the opposite sides throughout. On the bottom framing/planking,I was off 1/32 " in one spot checked with dividers from centerline.
