Here is one of my favorite projects. The customer said, "do what you think will look good". Converting a cigarette cruising boat (Scarab Raider) to a fishing boat. Yes it is done, has been done.I had done several Fountains back in the early 90's but they were mostly center consoles so they already had a head start on the fishing boat look. I did a top similar to this idea on a 30 something foot Contender but again, center console. This was built out of mill finish pipe, sanded, sandblasted and then powder coated with high lustre ,marine grade powder.

This whole project was built upside down from measurements. The front legs were fit on the boat as was the K bracing.

I am thinking we are supposed to build a rocket launcher rack for this in the future that mounts on the rear of the hard top.The arch has the appearance that it continues through the fibreglass in one piece. Note the clean wiring install from Robert the rigging guy. Alot of this is wired using teflon coated conductors. Even welding with the wire in the pipe does not degrade the insulation. It should hold up well to even the most severe marine environment. Brian also has some design and engineering tech on this as all of our products are a team effort. He has all the electronic gadgets and uses the best up to date ideas and technology possible. Anything one could possibly need to know about electronics can usually be found out by him. Most resourceful parts and gadget finder I know. You know, the trick stuff.

This is another nice feature for boats that you don't want to have a bow pulpit molded into the hull. Or one of the bolt on fibreglass pulpits. This one is made from the same pipe as the arch. I will have a top view in the future showing the electric anchor windlass and the pipe form on the top. The prototype was built for Brian's boat back in 03. Works very well on his 25 Mako.
