What’s the difference between a slide show and a Movie Slideshow movie?
A standard slideshow is a series of photographs displayed in their full image, one after another. A Movie Slideshow creates the appearance of camera movement by way of a digital process that "cuts" a photo into individual frames and renders each frame in such a way as to provide the illusion of various camera movements such as zoom, dolly, pan and tilt.
What are some uses for a Movie Slideshow?
A Movie Slideshow is: • an excellent marketing tool for use at trade shows • a great Christmas, birthday or anniversary gift • a nice addition to a memorial service • a great way to compile boxes of photographs or files of digital images into a form of entertainment.
Do you have a sample Movie Slideshow I could check out?
Yes. Call 707-823-4219 or email us with your address and we'll send one right out. A valid credit card is needed for a security deposit. A charge of $25 will be applied in the event the demo DVD is lost or damaged.
How long does a Movie Slideshow run?
It varies from project to project, but generally speaking, and as an example, a project consisting of 50 photos translates to about 8-10 minutes playing time. This might not seem like a lot of time taken at face value, but the beauty of a Movie Slideshow is that it actually seems much longer.
Are you able to scan slides?
Sorry. At this time I am not equipped to scan slides. In the future this option will likely be made available.
Can I add home movies to my project?
Yes. Your 8mm, Super 8mm, 16mm movies and/or analog video tape need first to be digitalized and then transferred to Mini-DV video tape format so that I may work with them. You can either take your movies to a reputable Film-to-Video Duplication service yourself, or for a small fee I can act as your agent and have it done for you. Prices vary.
Can I add my own audio?
Yes. You might be interested to know that we can also convert that old reel-to-reel audio tape you have sitting in your closet to digital format and use portions of it in your movie. Prices vary.
Can I add my own music choices?
Yes. At this point we are only able to access music from CDs or DVDs.
I am unable to view the sample movies you have on your website.
It is likely that your operating system is missing the Quicktime Movie plugin from Apple. It's a free download. If you don't have it, you should. Click here to go to the Apple download page.
How do I know if my home DVD player will be able to play my movie?
DVD players sold since 2002 are generally a safe bet for playing back you DV Movie, but check the master player compatibility list at www.dvdhelp.com to be sure. Of course, we won't begin a project without testing your DVD player with one of our sample movies.
Can I see a proof of my DV Movie before it's finalized?
Up to five proofs of the project will be made available during production via email link in Quicktime movie format. One Video CD proof of the project (no audio) will also be made available at your request when the final project is near completion. Additional proofs will be charged $5 each. Reasonable aesthetic changes to the project will be made at no charge, as will technical glitches. The producer reserves the right to determine which changes fall into the "reasonable changes" category and to deem certain change requests to be beyond the scope of that courtesy. You must have a computer equipped with the Quicktime Movie Player plug-in to view the Quicktime proof. If you don't have the Quicktime plug-in you can download it for free at the Apple website. Click here to go to the Apple download page.
Can I add to my DV movie later on?I
It is not possible to add to the actual DVD once it has been "burned," but we can boot up your project file and add to it or make changes at any time. Our policy is to save an archive of every project (the actual computer file) for one year, so in that time you are welcome to have us add or subtract photos, change music, add sound effects, etc., at a flat hourly rate of $45 plus $20 for the new DVD master copy.
