His tormentors felt a sense of false superiority seeing him on the ground but still he looked up at them with love and forgiveness not revenge. How often have you tried to make Jesus look foolish with your anti-Christ words, false superiority and a godless lifestyle?

God's word recorded that Paul endured two hundred stripes, how many others we may never know of. Have you received even one lash for Jesus? When men today hate Jesus they show it physically by becoming unmerciful to His Pentecostal Saints and by this make void all God's laws of decency. DEUT 25:2 Hebrew law teaches, a man was to be whipped only when lying on his face. Gentile pagan custom was to beat a person when tied in an upright position or while thrashing about on the ground. Steel tipped Roman whips would often put their victims eyes out, remove their nose, ears and testicals and leave their bodies open to the ravages of infection and slow painful death.
