Choosing an Editor
| The least you should expect from a good proofreader or editor is a firm and up-to-date grasp on the rules of English. (Our language is constantly changing; please see my Style & Usage Guide, including Outdated Rules.) But a good editor also understands each writer’s style, and knows when to allow for poetic license. Creative writers, especially, need an editor who gets them, and for this reason I encourage each new client to submit a short sample to ensure that we’re a good match; please email me as an attachment up to 300 words of your writing, with "Free Trial" in the subject line. I'll return the edited text within 24 hours, along with a price quote for a longer piece if you have requested one.
