Chrome is Home for Photorealist Martin Miglioretti

LIFE'S HIGHWAY HAS as many twists and turns as it does straight-aways.
For Martin Miglioretti, dealing with the curves on the road to a career has
become an art in itself.

While working on a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Martin studied the
photorealist movement, which had beginnings in New York around 1970.
Many of those artists liked the reflective surfaces of cars, trucks and
motorcycles. They gave Martin his inspiration and techniques. He used
his degree to get a job in advertising, where he worked for 26 years.

When a business slowdown found him out of work for a Houston ad agency,
he turned to his two favorite pastimes and launched a new career. Now a
working artist and classic car enthusiast, Martin produces stunningly
realistic paintings based on his own photographs of classic and performance
cars and motorcycles. The paintings are at once striking not just for their
photographic appearance, but also their vivid colors and unique composition.

Contrary to what many people think, he does not use an airbrush. Martin's
acrylic paintings are done in traditional studio style, using sable brushes
on stretched canvas. The works resemble conventional oil paintings, but are
more brilliant and equally durable.

Martin has shown his work at Gallery ADG, 3461 West Alabama at Edloe in
Houston's Greenway Plaza area. http://www.aquariumdesigngroup.com
He has exhibited at the 25th Annual Corvette/Chevy Expo at George R. Brown
Center in Houston, February, 2003, and the Lone Star Rod & Kustom
Roundup in Austin, March, 2003.http://www.lonestarroundup.com

HOT ROD magazine featured Martin Miglioretti's work in the June 2003 Issue.

Two of Martin's paintings were accepted in the Visual Arts Alliance Twentieth
Juried Exhibition, judged by the Museum of Modern Art, Houston, June,
2003 at Bank of America Center. Burgundy Trance was awarded First
Honorable Mention.

On August 1, 2003, Martin was awarded a commission by the Society of
Automotive Engineers (SAE International) for a 100th Anniversary
Commemorative painting. Scheduled for completion in January 2004, the
painting will hang in SAE corporate headquarters in Warrendale,
Pennsylvania. Limited edition prints will be presented to key members and
leaders of the industry.

At the rate Martin's work is gaining distinction, it looks like his career path is
headed for the straight-away. Call or write him today for info on a
commissioned painting of your personal automotive treasure.
