Regular readers of my blog will want to know who I am, and this is the place to tell them.

My name is Dave Metzger. Paraphrasing what the political operatives put  in their  campaign ads "I'm responsible" for what you see.   I worked my way through College doing security for what was then one of "The Seven Sisters".  Originally, Esso, then Exxon.  Now Exxon/Mobil.  You know, the folks who brought you Masterpiece theatre on Public TV.
After years of keeping big oil safe and financially sound I traveled a bit then  moved on to the world of Public, or more precisely,  community radio. That station will remain unnamed but it was part of Pacifica and stationed in New York City. Back then it was in a Church on the glamourous Upper East side.   Now it's infiltrated Wall Street and continues to beg for money at all too frequent intervals.  Of course Wall street also wants your money,  but that's another story.  It may even turn up one day in an almanac.
Since then I've done some teaching, computer work, indpendent bookselling and written  three books myself.   No, not on politics or how to find a job in alternative radio.  I'll leave you in suspense but if your interest is piqued  you can learn more here and even read a chapter gratis.   http://www2.xlibris.com/bookstore/bookdisplay.asp?bookid=22695

I think that should suffice for now.

I'll post all the basic information about me that I'm comfortable sharing, including things like my background and location.
