Marilyn began hosting and producing her radio show in the
Spring of 2005. As a graduate of Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois, she began working in entertainment
and communications in 1990 as radio announcer/DJ and publicity specialist for not-for-profit events.
Marilyn's interest in entertainment began long before then, however. As
a child, her parents introduced her to music; and she and her father sang duets together as they did household chores.
She also used the audiocassette recorder to interview her siblings and anyone else that would succumb to her requests.
Marilyn also studied fashion, modeling, makeup and acting at Barbizon School of
Modeling in Chicago. Over the years, as a public relations/events marketing specialist, she has had the privilege of
rubbing shoulders and working with popular entertainers, musicians, broadcast and business professionals, publicists,
key political figures, and many others. Obviously, hosting a radio show has also afforded her the opportunity to sit
and chat with the world's greatest people as well as the great "everyday people" who are so important to our society.
The road Marilyn traveled has not been easy and her story is not a fairy tale.
Marilyn credits God and her angels for seeing her through tough times and certainly for the miracles in her life. She is
living proof that it is possible to overcome obstacles, stumbling blocks, and setbacks.
In order to help
others reach their dreams, Marilyn started the monthly Positive Series in the fall of 2003. She offers parents (both
single and married)and singles information and inspiration to help them become better People, Parents and Partners AND to
rediscover themselves. Marilyn understands that when you bless and empower the parents...you bless and empower the child(ren).
GET HEALTHY, GET FIT with Marilyn's Cafe Society. The show features segments that provide exercise and nutritional tips as
we all strive to become more healthier and fit. This segment is in its 3rd year.
