Marilyn's Cafe Society is a 2-hour provocative and at times controversial radio talk show that airs on 1340AM WJOL radio in the Chicago market.
 
The show focuses on human interest topics, world affairs, politics, and the world of music, fashion, and entertainment.
 
Marilyn's purpose is to effect positive change and political enlightenment in the lives of each listener via information and discussion, along with a splash of entertainment.

Marilyn's Cafe Society Radio Show will broadcast "live" next SUNDAY, November 29th from 6:05pm to 8pm(CST) NOTE: The Open Mike Singing Contest semi-finals and finals are now set for Saturday, December 12th from 11am - 2pm. Christmas Caroling at Walmart to follow!!! Fun times! Come join us!
 
This past Sunday, November 22nd, Marilyn commented on light news stories related to the holiday season, getting healthy and fit, as well as the big media story regarding The Oprah Winfrey Show. The 2nd hour of the show included movie reviews, upcoming concert announcements, and other entertainment news. Marilyn had a karioke moment too. She sang the Mickey Mouse song!
 
On Saturday, November 7th, Marilyn shared commentary on the Fort Hood, Texas murders and updated listeners on status of other recent acts of violence. She also commented on the pending Healthcare Initiative which is now waiting for Senate approval. The show was shortened due to high school football.
 
Last Saturday, October 31st, Marilyn provided a H1N1 update and shared commentary on the latest statewide school report cards that were recently released. Listeners called in to chime in on the topic of education in America and the No Child Left Behind act. Listeners were reminded to be safe while Trick or Treating with children and also reminded to turn their clocks back one hour tonight.
 
In the 2nd hour, Marilyn took a brief look at entertainment news; talked up upcoming concerts/performances; and reviewed a few new movie releases. Listeners were also reminded to tune in to the Open Mike Singing Contest semi-finals that will begin on Saturday, November 14th.
 
Saturday, October 24th, Marilyn commented on the state of emergency that was issued by President Obama regarding H1N1 Flu Virus and lack of vaccines and treatments. She reminded listeners to frequently wash hands; to cover mouth/nose when coughing or sneezing and avoid people who don't; and to increase vitamin C & D intake. She also took a look at a recent report that indicated that bullies (perpetrators of violent acts) have self-esteem issues, feelings of inadequency, and inferiority complexes. They generally strike out to feel empowered; to belittle or take power away from their victim; and to feel in control.
 
In the 2nd hour of the show, Marilyn took a look at entertainment news. Congratulations to Shirley Leon! She's the 7th Open Mike Singing contestant.
