Road to Fame

VG "I am directing a short play entitled "Breakfast" for the People Program, a charity organization for seniors.  I now have such a wonderful pool of talented, trained actors that casting will be easy and rehearsals a joy. It opens this Saturday, October 24. (cast photo: Bob Pecunia, Susan Arthur, V and Rob Douthat)

Bob, Susan, V and Rob

acted as Executive Producer for "Halfway," a Screen Actors Guild short film to be entered into competitions world-wide.  In addition to her producing, she coached the actors on set and served as an advisor to the director, Dr. Shaun Carpenter.  A photo of the crew of "Halfway" is on the cover of the most recent "Louisiana Film & Video Magazine."

Katie Tiffanie Lyon got the lead role in Neil Simon's "Chapter Two", a dinner play at Luke's Brisket and Broadway Dinner Theater in Slidell, Louisiana. It starts October 16 through November 7. Tiffanie said she has to yell and get mad in it and is glad I brought out the villain in her in the last semester!

From Steve Kubik:

"Got a Doerr's Furniture commercial. It will shoot in August.  I am a principal actor in it."

From Anne Massey Casting:

Just wanted you to know .... your students are doing GREAT!

Craig Leydecker auditioned earlier this week for a commercial, and booked it!  He shoots tomorrow!

Aaron Sauer auditioned for the same series of commercials; they booked him for today and he will also shoot tomorrow.  So he landed a 2-day booking his first time out!

Madison Curry has already been on one audition for a film, and came in and officially registered with us yesterday.

Sheila Walker is coming in tomorrow ... I have a film audition lined up for her for next week.  So she's coming in to meet with Lee (the other agent/owner) tomorrow.

And Justin Wolfe has come in, auditioned, and has met with both of us.  He's not booked anything yet (it's only been a week!) but I expect him to land something soon.

That was a very good class showcase! Thanks again for inviting me!  Looking forward to the next one!   Anne

Rob Rob Douthat just landed the lead role of Sgt. Peppar in a film to be directed by Edmond Guidry, a graduate filmmaker at U.N.O. Film School.  The film is titled "Sgt. Peppar's Lonely Hearts Club."  Rob most recently played Brent in the short "They're Closed," which was directed by Cheri Noto Karlin, who is working with to cast actors in other upcoming films.  Cheri and also worked together on the set of the SAG short, "Halfway."

Rob  I just found out I got a speaking role in a 10 min. short film called "I go to war with everything that doesn't make sense in a bathtub".  I went on the audition last weekend & was told they would make a decision within 48 hrs., so I had kinda written it off. but got an e-mail telling me they want me to be one of the kid's parents(but not Charles). Here's a note about it:

"I go to war with everything that doesn't make sense in a bathtub." is the story of Charles, a star middle school football player who has recently lost his mother to suicide. Charles is chased through nightmares by a shadowy figure that he begins to associate with a new African American teammate. Everyone around Charles thinks he is racist, but he is just clinically insane. This story brings into question racism in youth, and the expectation of adults to see it in every action that children take.

Just wanted to let you know because if it wasn't for your coaching I wouldn't have landed it. I felt comfortable at the audtion & walked out feeling good about it. Thanks, you're the best.

   Don Lincoln
