We are not just Americans, on 9-11 we changed
We all became soldiers in our own special ways
We couldn't stop the planes on their terrorists flights
But on 9-11 what happened gave us all sleepless nights
The destruction was in PA, New York, and DC
But the attack was on Americans, that is YOU and is ME
We all watched with emotion, with terror, and fear
Only bomber jets flying over New York City air
The brave souls came pouring like golden droplets of rain
to rescue the victims from destruction and pain
As they went trough the rubble, the smoke, and the fire
To find people alive was their only desire
We are not just Americans, on 9-11 we changed
We all became soldiers in our own special ways
The rescue workers dug, as we asked GOD to save
As many as possible from their TRADE CENTER grave
All we could do for their families and friends
Was to pray and give comfort for LOVE never ends
The SPIRIT and HOPE that we feel in our hearts
Is filled with rememberance when our loved one departs
They sacrificed in innocence for our nation to grow
It wasn't in vain, we just want you to know
That the HEROES of 9-11 have lent us a hand to
ACCEPT and BELIEVE that
UNITED WE STAND
We are not just Americans, on 9-11 we changed
We all became soldiers in our own special ways
WE hung our great FLAG on our homes and our cars
The RED, WHITE, and BLUE with the tiny white stars
It's flying all over our great Native Land
To show all the terrorists what they don't understand
That they can harm people or take buildings away
But The UNITED STATES of AMERICA
is FOREVER to stay
So here is a tissue to wipe tears away
The victims crossed RAINBOWS and have this to say
"We thank all Americans for candles, flowers, and prayers
Just remember us always for many more years
We, too, are Americans, on 9-11 we changed
We, too, became soldiers in our own special ways"
