Tom "The Abyss" Londo started his DJ career at Western Illinois University with a residency at the Macomb Regulator in 1996. This small club was his springboard onto the DJ scene. Spinning House, Hip-Hop, Rap, and Mainstream, The Abyss made a name for himself around WIU under the name "DJ Tom-E-Boy". After the Regulator Tom opened The Top of the Town, and broke out as the headliner every weekend until graduation.
After college, The Abyss, under his new name, got into the Chicago north shore scene. He played at clubs like The Fuzzy Monkey, Spaid’s, Liquid and The Cove Nightclub. He held residency status at Spaid’s and The Cove, rockin' the show with mostly Hard House, Progressive and House music. All the while, The Abyss made the most of his close affiliation with The Mixx Mobb and Mixx Music to hone his skillz.
In recent months, the Abyss has leapt onto the Chicago club scene, holding residency at Spy bar, spinning at Blonde, and opening Hey Sushi. He has displayed his versatility by delving into Deep House groves and the funky beats that these lounges demand, while maintaining his signature style of driving rhythms and unique track selection. This unique style has been gathering a steady following from the north shore area, and is helping him obtain gigs elsewhere in and around Chicago. A true vinylist, he brings a bit of the old school to a new era of sounds.
