My New Friend
When I woke up this morning, I found that someone had decided to move in with me, specifically into my bathtub...naturally I was somewhat upset, and I immediately sprang into action...
After gaining a little composure (it WAS first thing in the morning), I decided that I might have been a little rash, and stepped back to reconsider my new adversary....

At this point, I decided that the situation wasn't nearly as dire as I had originally thought...after all, how much trouble could someone be with a face like this....

(OK, it helped a little bit when I realized just how massive the creatures actually was...)

OK...I ran across this guy in my tub this morning...he really DID look bigger than this when I first saw him, but I was already late for work. I figured it was stuck in the tub. I closed the window, and just to be sure I stuffed an old shirt under the bathroom door.
So...when I got home from work, OF COURSE he was no longer in the tub, nor was he anywhere else I could find. Long story short, I stuffed the shirt back under the door and waited for dark (I know enough about scorpions that they hunt mostly at night and hide during the day). After a bit, he magiacally reappeared right back in the tub, probably after hiding in the drain all afternoon. I had thought he was too big to fit through the little holes in the drain, but he wasn't quite as big as I had remembered...
The plans at this point are to let him out up on Signal Hill somewhere tomorrow. He's not big enough to be a danger to anything larger than a small spider, and I doubt that he'd be able to walk the 2 blocks back to my apartment any time this year.
UPDATE: I did manage to get out before work this morning and drop him off in a field a little ways up the hill from my apartment. Last I saw, he was scurrying off down the hill...right back towards the apartment...
