My subject: the surface itself, effects that I can build up by the application of different layers of paint and juxtaposition of colors. Even if there is no narrative, no story, I find that blues still suggest sky and sea; greens, jungle and rattan; flaming reds, fire; and, yellows, sun. Earth, sky, water, fire are suggested by my application of pigments, these are the basic elements of this unfolding story called life, the great adventure of discovery and re-discovery of the given, of light and dark.
