 The Civil Air Patrol

Civil Air Patrols an Air Force Auxilary program.  This program offers
survival training, search and rescue, leadership training, first aid
& cpr, physical fitness, academic and flight scholarships, and so
much more.  Visit their website
http://www.cap.af.mil/  There are
opportunities later for advanced training and a wide variety of
schools.

A prospective cadet must be at least 12 and no older than 18.
However, once in, a cadet may remain in the program until 21.

The meeting starts at 7pm and, I believe, goes until 8:30pm.  There
will be Officers there and a few cadets to answer any questions you
may have.  There will also be informational booklets available.  It
is located at 7600 Airline Road.  If you go straight down Market
Street towards the airport you will take a right onto Airline Road.
It curves around to the right and the building is right there.  It
is an older building facing the runway.

They do wear a uniform.  They wear both the BDU and the dress
blues.  They have uniforms there that can be signed out once you
decide to join.  The meetings are on Tuesday nights @ 7pm.  It is a small group looking to expand.  They have no problem with homeschoolers nor parent involvemant.  They actually encourage
it.  If you have any further questions please call 1st LT Mark
Salvato @ 622-2984 or email msalvato@artelco.net.

For anyone looking for an ROTC type of program for their
children....boys and girls...this is an excellant one.

We hope to see you there.  Just mention you received this off a
homeschool loop.
