Bowling - Winston
Tuesday, Oct. 30th, 2007 (For additional dates, please contact Lori)
Please arrive by 1:00 PM at AMF on Jonestown Road in Winston-Salem. Cost
of bowling is $4.64 per person for one hour of bowling, including children and adults, or $7.19 for two hours of bowling.
This includes your shoe rental also.
This is a timed bowling, so please be at the bowling alley by 12:50 in order
to get your shoes and be ready to bowl by 1:00.
You MUST RSVP so I have a head count to give the bowling alley. Also,
if I do not receive any RSVPs, then I will not plan to be at the bowling alley.

p.m. Cost is $2.00 per game which includes shoe rental. All homeschoolers welcome. (Just let them know at the front
desk you're with the homeschoolers. )
At the end of November we (Bowling Lanes & I) will be evaluating whether
or not to scale this down to once a month, depending on how many people show up.

Fencing Class
The Mid-South Fencer's Club is for ages 7-14. Located at the Lindley Recreation Center in Greensboro.
Fencing is a life-long sport which provides many opportunities for social interaction, travel and collegiate scholarships.
The Staff of the MSFC strives to create a postive, safe environment for all children, while providing proper training to advance

Our Paintball Club meets once a month and our games
are located between Union Cross and High Point. Convenient to HWY 311 and I 40.

Tennis
Maximum tennis Academy is offering a Homeschool tennis Program this fall. The class meets Monday
and Thursday from 2p.m.-3 p.m. at Forsyth Country Day School. Classes are flexible, you can come once or twice per week, and
all levels are taught from beginner to advanced. The cost is $80 for eight sessions. For more information, please call Denard

This is a great program and my kids have really enjoyed Denard's teaching and coaching style.
He is very encouraging and stresses fitness, technique and having fun!

Homeschool Soccer
The Forsyth Home Educators group has a HS Soccer team that is in need of
more players. There are several boys from the Greensboro area who will be playing with them this year. Transportation should
not be a problem as there will be others going from this area. This will be a short season as it will only last until the
first week of October. If you are interested or you know of some one who is please contact Kari Hilton at 286-6749 ASAP. All
games are close by and the home field is near SciWorks in WS. Cost is very reasonable $35-$70 depending on the number of games
played. Please forward this to all groups. Decisions must be made by Friday, August 19th!

GIRLS Basketball for Homeschoolers! Middle
School and/or High School
If you are interested in participating in and/or working to help organize
a girls basketball program, here's your opportunity! Mrs. Trina Smith (homeschool mom) has volunteered to coach!
There are several girls homeschool teams in our state, as well as many opportunities to play against private school
teams.

Homeschool Basketball
There are numerous basketball teams in the area. YMCA's, local community centers, some local churches
offers Upwards and FHE in Winston to name a few. For more information and/or to find a team closest to you, please

The
Civil Air Patrol
Civil Air Patrols an Air Force Auxilary program. This program offers survival training,
search and rescue, leadership training, first aid & cpr, physical fitness, academic and flight scholarships, and so
much more. Visit their website http://www.cap.af.mil/ There are opportunities later for advanced training and a wide variety of schools.
A prospective
cadet must be at least 12 and no older than 18. However, once in, a cadet may remain in the program until 21.
The
meeting starts at 7pm and, I believe, goes until 8:30pm. There will be Officers there and a few cadets to answer
any questions you may have. There will also be informational booklets available. It is located at 7600
Airline Road. If you go straight down Market Street towards the airport you will take a right onto Airline Road.
It curves around to the right and the building is right there. It is an older building facing the runway.
They do wear a uniform. They wear both the BDU and the dress blues. They have uniforms there that
can be signed out once you decide to join. The meetings are on Tuesday nights @ 7pm. It is a small group looking
to expand. They have no problem with homeschoolers nor parent involvemant. They actually encourage it.

Kernersville Chess Club
Homeschool Chess Club meets every Tuesday from 2:45 - 4pm at Panera in Kernersville (907 S. Main St.).
This
is an opportunity for kids to bring their chess sets and play with other homeschool kids. There will not be any instruction
other than what the kids learn from each other. Moms must stay with their kids or make their own arrangements for supervision.
