FAQ's
Here you can add a TBX, Phase and other upgrades to your harness. For detailed descriptions of each please scroll down, below the options.

Fender TBX Tone Control

A Fender TBX Control works as both a Standard High Frequency cut for a normal tone control, as well as a low frequency cut, which gives you a brighter more sparkeling tone. It has a center "detent" where it is off. Rotate it either Clockwise or Counter Clockwise to hear each effect. Works great as a Master Control for an Ultimod and adds sparkle to the series settings.

Upgrade includes all the parts and labor for adding a TBX Control to any harness.

Note: The TBX can control 2 Pickups at a time only on a Standard 5 Way harness. For all others it must be a Master TBX or work on an individual pickup.

Bridge On Switch

A "Bridge On" switch will add the bridge pickup to settings 4 & 5 on your 5 way. Giving you the new combinations of "Bridge & Neck" and "Bridge & Middle & Neck". When the switch is off you have your standard settings. A Bridge On Mod can only be added to a Standard 5 Way harness.

Switch Method

Phase Switch

A "Phase" switch can be added to any harness. You can change the phase of any single pickup. When a pickup is out of phase with the others in the guitar, you will get a quacky, hollow kind of tone when using the out of phase pickup and another one.

For 3 Pickup guitars I suggest changing the phase on the middle for the most options.

TBX

A TBX control not only works like a normal tone control, but it also has a double function where it takes off some low end. This gives you a nice airy, brilliant tone. This works great with the series settings of my custom mods or with humbuckers. And it makes single coils almost angelic.

How it works is with a dual stacked pot with one control shaft. It has a center detent where the control is off. Turn it one way and it works like a normal tone, turn it the other way and it works as the bass cut. It uses a standard Strat knob.

If added to a standard 5 way harness the TBX can control all the pickups, just one pickup or any combination of two. But when used with a custom harness it can be a Master or control just one.

Info:
  • TBX Takes place of 1 Tone control.
  • Can be assigned to all pickups or any individual pickup.
  • Can only be assigned to two pickups if added to a Standard 5 way harness.
  • TBX Requires 1" of depth.
  • More options will be added in the future.

Phase Switch

By adding a phase switch on a push pull pot or mini toggle you can change the phase of any single pickup. This will give you a very nasal, quacky kind of tone. Popular on the Jimi Page Les Pauls. Works great on Strats as well. I would suggest changing the phase of the middle pickup, because this will give you the most out of phase options.

Bridge On

This will add a Bridge on Mod to any standard 5 way harness. This will give you all the same settings as a blend, but the bridge will simply be on or off, not slowly  blended in. A lot of players prefer it that way.

This can be done on a push pull pot or on a mini toggle. When off you will have the stock 5 settings. When up you will have the extra settings of "Bridge & Neck" and also "All 3 Pickups". This is the most popular Strat mod ever done.

Virtually any upgrade is possible. It's almost impossible for me to list every possible upgrade and scenario. And I don't want you to be limited to just what is pre-listed on the site. I can put together anything you want as long as it will work. If I don't have an upgrade option set up for it you can just add in some extra labor to cover the parts and labor. All Labor Upgrades
