Here is the description of my Super HH Mod. This mod is designed to work on any guitar with 2 Humbuckers, 2 Single coils. 2 P90's, 2 Tele pickups, etc. That can be either a Double Fat (HH) Strat or a Dual pickup Telecaster, or anything else that uses a Strat style 5 way switch. Read below for a full description of the switching and options.
 
This version adds coil splitting for each pickup, more than doubling your total settings

Description of controls
 
This mod comes standard with a Super 5 way switch, Master Volume, Neck Tone and Bridge Tone. This version uses a Push Pull Pot for each tone control. The Neck tone coil splits the neck pickup, the bridge tone coil splits the bridge pickup. For the same mod without coil splitting click Super HH Mod
 
Mode of operation:
 
This mod uses a Super 5 way switch to access the settings. No extra rotary is used, no extra switches are used. This does not alter the appearence of your guitar.
 
Settings on super 5 way switch
 
  1. Bridge
  2. Bridge + Neck in series out of phase
  3. Bridge + Neck in series in phase
  4. Bridge & Neck in Parallel in phase
  5. Neck

Each pickup can be humbucker or single coil in each position.

This gives you every cool combination for a 2 pickup guitar plus many more options with the coil splitting

Requirements

For this mod to work your humbuckers must be a style that has a shield wire in addition to the signal wires. This is usually a 4 conductor shielded wire. It is also compatible for standard single coils, P90's, Tele Pickups, Noiseless single coils, stacked humbuckers or Strat sized 4 conductor humbuckers.

Options available at no extra cost:

  • 250K, 500K or 1 Meg control pots
  • Add volume kit to retain high ends at lower volumes.
