General Description:

This is my "Hot Tele Mod" or HTM. This is a great mod to upgrade any Strat or other 3 Pickup guitar. Primarily a Blues Mod, the HTM mod will also work great for Country Players, Blue Grass Players and add more tonal range for Rock and Classic Rock. It gives you the 2 Parallel pickup combinations not available on factory wired Strats. Adding these 2 Extra settings gives you what is commonly called a "Bridge On" Strat or a "7 Sound Strat". It's without a doubt the most common mod done to Strats over the decades. What I have done is added in those great settings without eliminating your Stock 5 way settings in their stock positions. And without any redundant settings on the 5 way. But I have taken it a step further and added in 2 more settings. One is a series setting found on custom wired 2 pickup Telecasters. The other is a totally custom setting, not available on any factory wired Tele or Strat.

Mode of Operation:

This mod is operated by use of a special 3 way rotary switch. This switch goes in the center control position and replaces that tone control. The remaining tone is then wired as a master tone. This rotary accesses what I call "Banks". Banks are the 5 settings on your 5 way switch when my custom switch is in one of it's positions. So for the HTM Mod you have 3 total banks, accessed by the 3 way rotary.
Under normal playing conditions you will set the rotary to access whichever Bank is suitable for the song you are about to play. You then use your 5 way switch during the song to switch on the fly. This is crucial because you are more accustomed to using your 5 way to switch live. So using this mod will be like second nature.

Custom Settings - Banks:

I use the term "Banks".  A Bank is the group of 5 settings on the 5 way, with the custom rotary switch in each of it's 3 positions. So with a 3 way rotary you will have 3 total Banks.
