Perhaps the most important magick around is that of self-help magick. It is at the very least the most helpful at times. This regular section provides spells, rituals, meditations and techniques that are about helping the self in many different ways.
Balance is extremely important and for most very difficult to achieve. The following meditation can help you balance your body, mind and spirit. Find a comfortable chair to sit in or you may stand. Relax and take three slow deep breaths, letting them out just as slowly. Visualize yourself as you are now and then see the air around you begin to shimmer. Let the power of air swirl around and through you, touching every part of your being, balancing you and carrying away all the unbalanced energies.
After you have done this, see flames burst from within and around you, burning away all unbalanced energies and rebirthing you into a new balanced state. After you have done that, see water come up through your feet through your entire body and exit the top of your head like a fountain falling all around and through you. It cleanses your entire being of all unbalanced energies and washes away the old unbalanced you. See the stabilizing and grounding forces of earth come into you up through your feet, making every aspect of your being strong, firm and stable. Finally see the element of spirit enter through the top of your head down to your feet and into the earth, saturating your entire being with spirit. At this point say to yourself:
At this point try and see all 5 elements within and around yourself at the same time. If you have trouble doing this, just see the element of spirit within you and know that the other four elements exist within Spirit.
