Reference Desk: Internet Search Indexes
Radiology and Related Medical Indexes
Hardin
MD: Hardin Meta Directory of Internet Health Sources - While most Internet
indexexes strive to be the most comprehensive, the Hardin Meta Directory
attempts to provide a rudimentary form of peer review by including links
only to those indexes considered most authoritative within their respective
fields.
Hardin
Meta Directory - Radiology - This list of indexes in this directory
may be short but taken together they provide a comprehensive index of radiology
related resources on the Internet.
RSNA
LAUNCH PAD: On-Line Sources of Information - The RSNA provides this
searchable listing of radiology related resources organized in a variety
of categories designed to simplify finding relevant resources.
-
Martindale's
Health Science Guide - Medical Imaging Center - Links to a variety
of multimedia medical imaging related resources. Most of these links are
not for those with graphicly challenged browsers or slow modem connections
to the Internet.
International
Network for Interfaith Health Practices - A good general health and
medical reference site.
General Internet Indexes
Internet
Resources Meta-Index - If an index has been out there long enough it's
probably in here somewhere. Covers everything on the Internet, not just
the Web.
The
WWW Virtual Library - Although the commercial indexes such as Yahoo
and Starting Point are more up to date, because the WWWVL is maintained
by people working in the various fields, the information found through
it tends to be more authoritative and relevant. Everything from Aboriginal
Studies to Zoos.
Yahoo
- The best known and largest of the general purpose Internet indexes. It
has the added benefit of an excellent search engine.
Yahoo/Science/Science/Biology/Anatomy
Yahoo/Arts/Humanities/Philosophy/Ethics/Medical_Ethics
Yahoo/Health/Medicine/Medical
Imaging
Yahoo/Health/Medicine/Radiology
Res-Links
All-in One Resource Page - This index has something for everyone who
is looking for anything from information to software, or even people. This
site is available in three flavors: frames, tables, and text for the graphicly
impaired.
Web
Central - Links for Everyday Use - A very attractive combination directory
and search page.
The
Internet Services List - Scott Yanoff's collection of pointers to resource
directories on a variety of subjects.
An
Index of FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) - If you have a question,
the answer can probably be found in here.
