medical terminology search engine, a pharmaceuticals and medicines index,

Medscape

AltaVista
- The size of its database, the speed of its search engine, and the ability
to more narrowly define searches by using Boolean operators, specifying
which parts of documents to search, nesting, searching by date, and user
defined results ranking criteria gives Alta-Vista the edge when it comes
to finding specific information on the Web or in USENET newsgroups.

Lycos
- With a database almost as large as [and sometimes more up to date than]

Internet Search - Not sure where to start looking? The All-in-One search
page has links to enough search engines to keep even the most dedicated
information hunters happy.

- Although Yahoo is more accurately categorized as an index, the size of
its index combined with the power of its search engine merits its inclusion
here as well.
