This is one of the more popular faux finishes today, and when done right can look amazingly genuine! It is a gradual process of blending and layering multiple colors and glazes. This project was done on a metal rotisserie oven hood that was originally covered in brown wood grain contact paper. What a difference!
Trompe l'Oeil can be translated as "Trick the Eye". It is a 3-dimensional painted illusion; These arches give the effect that the patrons of the restaurant were looking out the open arches to the sea.
The use of pre-cut stencils to create designs on walls and furniture, such as borders, motifs, accent painted walls, etc.We can reproduce wall paper designs and implement them into an border as an accent on an opposite wall, or produce original designs following a client selected theme or motif, such as grape vines, ivy, flowering vines, etc.
