Shone here is the damage that has accrued to this prop wile in storage. From the right side of the head down through the neck. The right arm. On the lower torso. Unlike the other corps prop pictured on the home page this prop has had no water exposure. The reason for this page is to alert fellow prop builders and look for a solution. When I find a good fix I'll post it on the site.

Possible reasons and solutions.
Because I've used different brands of duct tape it's impossible for me to know which tape was used on this prop Because this is the only corps out of all the stand up and ground breakers I've done to show this kind of damage I'm thinking along the lines of the tape used. One possible solution to prevent this problem from accruing would be to change the way the first coat of mache is added. Instead of using the small 1 x 2 inch pieces use longer, larger ones. Perhaps 3 x 6 inches. This way there will be more contact to the newspaper around the duct tape. If the mache would come loose form the tape it would still be held in place by the surrounding surface.
