Ballad Of John And Julie
(Written By Ken Baker)

Came in on his motorbike like an Easy Rider
Riding to a rock & roll band
Julie waiting on the floor Johnny walked up side her
For he was her rock & roll man
Everybody at the hop stopped to watch them jive
To the rhythm of the live band

Davey was a jealous man and he loved sweet Julie
Said she really turned him on high
And walking out on the floor tore John’s satin tie
And he called him Lionel Blair
Johnny said ‘Well that ain’t fair and where do you think you’re going’
That’s my old lady you got there

Jive on and on for rock & roll your feet will live on I know
Jive on and on for rock & roll your feet will live on I know
Jive on and on you will live on

Johnny chased him out the door swore that he would get him oh yeah
But Davey had a knife in his hand
God he’s gonna kill me dead said John if I let him oh-no!
Just before he struck him down dead
Now he’s in the promised land but man that boy’s still jiving because
Johnny was a rock & roll man
