Brief History:
1969: Born on Long Island, New York
1974: Sister Patricia Anne Davidson is born (2/6)
ca. 1976: Parents divorce
ca. 1980: Mother takes Patty, my grandmother, my
uncle and myself to Leon Valley, just a few miles outside of San
Antonio, Texas.
ca. 1981: I am baptized at Northwest Hills Baptist Church.
1985: In the summer, I attend the Pre-Freshman Engineering Program at the
University of Texas in San Antonio.
1986: Graduate from Temple Baptist Christian
School in San Antonio. Later that year, I would join the US Army
as a Unit Supply Specialist.
1987: Assigned to HHC, 326th Engineer Battalion,
101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Also, later
in that year, I am involved in my first roleplaying campaign. I
am a wizard in an AD&D game. Priests (then known as "Clerics")
would later become my favorite character class. At some point
during this year, I discover that AD&D is not the only RPG
out there. I first discover a game called Villains and
Vigilantes, a roleplaying game where you can play a super-hero.
Not being really satisfied with the game system (I began to
really despise randomly generated characters, because I
inevitably rolled up a sucky character every single time), I
began a search for something better. Something better did
eventually come alongChampions. I quickly convert.
ca. 1988: I am a founding member of the Gamemaster's
Guild, a local roleplaying enthusiast club in Clarksville, TN.
1989: After failing the US Army's Physical
Training requirements for the seventh time in a row, I am
discharged from the US Army. What took them so long is anybodys
guess. Shortly after being discharged, I move (with my fathers
help, I might add) back up to New York. I would later find out that I have (at least)
a cardiary arrhythmia that may have contributed to my inability to run 2 miles.
1990: NBTY, INC. (called Natures Bounty, Inc. at the
time) hires me.
ca.1990: I become involved in a local Champions group. Through this group,
I meet some of the best friends I've ever had: Jim, Mike, Nikki and Charles (of the Accursed
Dice).
1992: After moving in and out of several places here on Long Island, I move
into a friend's house in Selden. It's cheap, but I slowly get the feeling that something
isn't right.
1993: I buy a car (1992 Geo Metro). This is the beginning of what would be the hardest
year of my life so far. The reasons for buying the car is because I was in love with a woman
who was dating a guy (I believe) solely because he had a nice car. It turns out that the guy
was a dealer, and he was arrested and jailed (from what I hear). My fears about the house turn
out to be true: the bank forecloses on my friend's house, meaning I have to quickly find another
place to live. I won't have the chance to find one--a fire would accelerate the moving process.
I spend the next four to five months living in my car. If it weren't for my friends Jim and Mike, I wouldn't
have been able to afford the security deposit on a room in Patchogue. I live there for the next
seven years.
1997: My department (Mail Order Shipping) gets a much-needed
overhaul. Picking orders by hand is not fast enough and too labor
intensive for us to continue doing it: Puritans Pride has
just grown too big. SI Handling Services is called in for the
automation process. I become involved with this
automation process by making helpful suggestions to the programmers.
Soon, I'm one of very few people who have any
kind of understanding of how the system workseven amongst
programmers at SI Handling.
2001: On November 8th, my father passes away.
