Silver City lies in a draw on Jordan Creek, 6,200 feet high in the Owyhee Mountains. It is 23 miles from Murphy via a narrow, winding, gravel road. The road is usually open from May to September when the snow is gone. It is inaccessible in the winter except for skiers and snowmobilers.

It's kind of hard to tell in this picture but if you look real close you will see that this structure was built right on top of the creek.

Walking through town, you can almost imagine what it was like during its' heydays, roughly 1860-1900.
