Please join us for a Wheaten blood drive to collect as many blood samples as possible for the DNA bank at the University of MO at Columbia.

This is our opportunity to make a significant contribution to our breed and to help provide the genetic material for future research of PLE, PLN, RD,

Addison’s Disease and any other hereditary diseases and we need YOUR help!

The goal of the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America is to collect at least 1,000 samples for research programs and the St Louis Club is proud to assist in achieving this goal.

Cost to each owner is $10/dog for DNA processing.

(The SCWT Club of America and SCWT Club of Greater St. Louis are contributing the additional $30 for the DNA processing costs.)

A pedigree is not required; just a purebred wheaten!

What do I need to do to participate?

· Enroll your Wheaten(s) online at www.caninephenome.org and complete the CONFIDENTIAL Online survey and enrollment process:

a) Select Enroll Your Dog.

b) Select Sign Up Here.

c) Enter your contact information including an email address. An individual password will be emailed to you immediately.

d) Login using the password sent to you.

e) Select Enroll a New Dog.

f) Complete the Identification information for your dog, if known. (AKC number, registered name, call name, sex, date of birth, microchip or tattoo number, AKC name & number of sire and dam.)

g) Select Submit DNA Sample on dog's profile page which appears next.

h) Print and sign the resulting DNA Submission Form and bring this submission form with you to the Blood Draw on April 19th. A separate form is needed for each participating dog.

The Veterinary Group of Chesterfield is also offering a diagnostic blood panel at a discounted rate of $55.00/dog. Normal pricing for these tests through your vet could run $150 or more, so this is a great way to get your Wheaten’s yearly health screening done at a discount.

The panel includes: CBC, Chemistry 19 Panel, & T4

If you are a client of the Veterinary Group of Chesterfield, results of the testing will be telephoned to you. If not, a hard copy will be sent to your home that you should share with your veterinarian.
