A restored 16th century house near the abbey in the centre of the beautiful medieval village of
Caunes-Minervois. The house is three stories tall and is traditional in design (thick walls, high beamed
ceilings, and shuttered windows).
A large modern kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, and plenty of counter
space also includes a dining area, a fireplace and a french door leading out to the courtyard that has a
table with an umbrella seating six and a charcoal barbecue.
The house features a large living room with two french doors facing the
courtyard, games, books and magazines to pass the time.
The house is simply decorated with furniture from the region and artwork
from trips abroad.
The large tiled master bathroom has a shower, bidet, toilet, and pedestal sink.
It also has a sliding glass door that goes out to the large covered balcony (complete with a little cafe
table and 2 chairs). The second bathroom has a bathtub and stylish vanity/lavabo and toilet.
There is also a WC on the ground floor. Towels and facecloths are provided.
Three good sized bedrooms on the second floor complete the amenities: one
with a queen-sized bed (firm mattress), another with a double bed (medium firm), and another with 2 twin
beds (medium firm). All linen is provided.
One important note for potential visitors with mobility issues: the house has a common French layout. The main floor is one flight up from the street. The bedrooms are reached by two further staircases. Even the livingroom is on a different level than the kitchen. There are also steps to get out on the terrace.
