March 30, 2001 - FridayThere's a New Boeing Jetliner that finally looks like something that belongs in the 21st century. And, another look at the new jetliner . March 26, 2001 - MondayIt seems that the author of The Rules is getting a divorce . This one needs to be filed either under Irony or Karma . March 22, 2001 - ThursdayTimothy McVeigh to Get a Vegetarian "Last Meal" . Whatever. March 20, 2001 - TuesdayAnother plane flight to watch the Mir re-entry . I just want to know what will happen when everyone rushes to the same side of the aircraft. March 19, 2001 - MondaySomeone has developed a talking vodka bottle cap . I think someone had been drinking a few too many vodkas when they came up with this idea. And, for those of you still worried about Mir, the JPass Satellite Tracker will let you know when to duck (as well as letting you track the International Space Station and other satellites. March 16, 2001 - FridayMan Killed When "Magic Spell" Fails . You know, I hate it when that happens. I have no idea what all this is about, but apparently All Your Base Are Belong To Us . Whatever that means. March 12, 2001 - MondayYou know your flight just got a bit too interesting when one of the passengers decides to strip . Mile-high club membership not included. A few thoughts about staff meetings and airlines . March 9, 2001 - FridayOh great, a manic-depressive web server . All right, a toy that you can control over the Internet I can handle. But does the fact that its a Terminator toy not bother anyone besides me? And, in todays "WTF?" moment, the British post office is planning to issue scratch 'n sniff stamps commemorating British Nobel laureates . Ummm... Say what? New and improved "non-lethal" weapons . March 7, 2001 - WednesdayNow they're worried that when Mir crashes it may bring a mutant fungus to Earth . No, that isn't the plot of a bad science-fiction movie, though it probably will be by the time you read this. The Internet coffee machine is being disconnected. This was just a webcam that someone set up pointing at the office coffee machine so that they could see if there was any coffee before getting up from their desks. Ah, the wild crazy days of the early Internet, when watching coffee was high entertainment. That's "It" ? March 5, 2001 - MondayBattlebots: The Home Game . Personally, I'm holding out for Junkyard Wars: The Home Game . Or, how about Iron Chef: The Home Game ? Or, for that matter, Antiques Road Show: The Game . Or not. Someone is planning to set a new high altitude record for skydiving . At what point does it stop being a "Skydive" and turn into a "Spacedive". Of course, I haven't gotten over the jumping out of a perfectly good airplane part myself, so what do I know. March 1, 2001 - ThursdayIs this guy really selling Seattle earthquake debris on eBay or is it like the guy who was selling snow last winter? |
