Overview:

Another patient enters the hospital, this one a serial killer. Drs. Hook and Draper conspire to let Druse stay in the hospital for a while. Druse attempts to locate the spirt of Mary but contacts something much more malevolent instead.

Summary:

Do everyone a favor; let him die. - Dr. Hook

There will be repercussions! - Dr. Stegman

Dr. Hook is still standing on the top of the elevator, apparently stunned over what he has seen. Mrs. Druse keeps asking what he sees and he finally admits to finding the doll and dropping it. He climbs back into the elevator, looking shaken.

Elsewhere, Rolf Pederson is in a prison cell. He receives some mail and opens a letter from Harriet, his girlfriend. He peels what looks like stickers from the letter and stick them in his mouth. He then breaks the frame of his glasses open, removes some pills that were hidden inside and takes them as well.

Harriet, meanwhile, is sitting in her car somewhere. We see her licking some stickers as well. She then dumps a bottle of pills onto a picture of Rolf and takes them one at a time.

Back in prison, Rolf is having a seizure; blood coming from his mouth, nose and eyes.

Dr. Hook and Mrs. Druse have exited their elevator and meet Able and Christa, who Hook introduces to Druse. They open the door to the elevator shaft and Christa retrieves the doll with what looks like a butterfly net. Mrs. Druse takes the doll and comments that it is very old. Hook finally admits to her what he saw in the elevator shaft and she tries to convince him that she needs to stay in the hospital to try to contact the girl he saw.

Rolf is being rushed to Kingdom Hospital in the ambulance. One of the EMTs is upset that that they are on a call as they were using the ambulance to move his brother's stereo equipment when the call came in. Suddenly the stereo starts blaring the song Kiss Him Goodbye ("Sha-na-na na, sha-na-na na, hey he-y, good-bye...") The EMT in back starts to freak out since the stereo isn't hooked up. Meanwhile, the driver is also freaking since they are being paced by a driverless 1940's style ambulance.

Eventually they make it to the hospital. Rolf is wheeled in and is seen by Dr. Hook. Hook identifies him as "public enemy number 1" and advises the emergency room staff to "do everyone a favor; let him die".

In the emergency room, the ER nurse tries to get Carrie to insert an airway into Rolf. Carrie doesn't want to and is even more upset when she sees Rolf is bleeding from his eyes. She tries but Rolf suddenly comes to and takes the airway hose from her. He sits up and, after looking around, starts singing Kiss Him Goodbye while using the hose as a microphone. Elmer starts singing into his stethoscope as well and soon the rest of the ER staff join in.

Meanwhile, Dr. Hook and Dr. Draper come up with a plan to get Mrs. Druse readmitted into the hospital. Dr. Draper gives her an injection of novocain while Dr. Hook goes and gets Dr. James. (They give each other that blow-into-their-thumb gesture when they meet.) Hook and Draper convince James that Druse has had a stroke (due to her novocain-numbed and sagging face) and James signs off on her admittance papers. Hook warns that Stegman won't be happy about Druse being back in the hospital but James says that Stegman has more to worry about; Mona Klingerman's mother.

We see Renee Klingerman arrive. She takes Mona's chart and demands to know when Dr. Stegman will arrive.

Dr. Stegman arrives at his office with Dr. Abelson. His office is a shambles due to the last earthquake having knocked everything to the floor. Stegman calls maintenance and gets the same person as before who claims to be sitting in for Goode, who is still out. Stegman tries to get him to come up and clean his office but is told to call housekeeping instead.

Dr. Abelson cleans up Stegman's office for him then starts being affectionate to him; rubbing his back and kissing him while saying "mommy made it better". She tells Dr. Stegman he is a great man. Stegman complains a bit, saying that everyone at the hospital is an idiot and that Dr. Hook openly defies him. He then adds that they are trying to get him to join "The Keepers of the Kingdom". He also talks about Mona Klingerman and mentions that her mother is threatening to go to the medical board.

Dr. Abelson points out that the "Keepers" are very powerful and that since powerful groups can sometimes make problems disappear perhaps he should consider their offer. She then makes the blow-into-her-thumb gesture. Stegman returns the gesture and they both laugh.

The ER apparently finished its musical interlude and Rolf has been stabilized. One of the doctors comments that Rolf was apparently in a suicide pact with his girlfriend. They were able to save his life but she died. Rolf is taken to Peter's room.

Natalie is with Peter and tries to talk to him but he does not appear to hear her. He finds himself in the Old Kingdom again and encounters Antubis. Antubis repeats that Peter owes him a favor and warns him of his new roommate.

Mrs. Druse, doll in hand, attempts to contact Mary. She wanders around the hospital a bit and thinks she has but has instead contacted the vampire boy (who we later learn is named Paul). The encounter leaves her shaken and uncertain.

Dr. Stegman, dragging Carrie with him, goes to Mona Klingerman's room and meets with Renee Klingerman. Stegman starts off trying to be polite and diplomatic but quickly loses his temper. He says that Mona may someday be able to learn such simple tasks as housework and setting the table but will never be able to do anything as complicated as vacuuming. Mrs. Klingerman says that he cut out too much of Mona's brain when he confused his left and his right and adds that he also killed someone while operating on them at his last assignment in Boston and that Kingdom Hospital was the only place in the country that would give him a job afterwards. She also says that when her lawyers are through with him the only job he will be able to get is vacuuming.

Outside, Abel and Christa spray paint something on the side of Stegman's car, to the delight of the watching street teens.

Rolf is taken to Peter's room. In an odd sequence, we see him back in the operating room singing Kiss Him Goodbye while the hospital staff join in and dance around. Even Harriet's body, lying in the morgue, sits up and joins in.

Dr. Stegman returns to the parking lot and discovers the graffiti on the side of his car. It reads, "Physician, heal thyself". He looks up at the sky and screams that there will be repercussions.
