Nonexistence Rights Activists

Picketers and protesters have been holding up construction for months, claiming the injustice of disturbing the lives of the native denizens. The builders retort exasperated with a detailed explanation of how, with foresight, to solve just this problem they have been building with nothing, on top of nothing, and that at best the protesters are seeing "the reflections of their own subconscious in the void under and between all the disconnected elements of the yet uncompleted world."

"We are using state of the art paradox manifolds with 100% economy and zero overhead, supplies, or waste. All labor is on a volunteer basis. We aren’t even drawing on any previously built up stores of energy. We’re at a crucial phase in a process which is all inclusive with no external stance for comments. It is not the time to be throwing in monkey wrenches," says Building Committee Secretary Jaberly Watson.

But none of that seems the least bit reassuring to the activists. "You can’t exclude them, just because they don’t exist," they insist. Further frustrating to the builders is the fact that the resistance has nothing constructive or even agreed upon to add to the on-going diplomatic negotiations which aim at striking some plan which will appeal to both sides. They are unremitting in supporting the nobodies from which nothing has been taken. "Nothing must see justice," is their call to action.

However there seems to be a break which has not yet been pursued. Scholars of nothing have recently traced a pattern connecting these oppressed non-existent denizens to the minds of twilight vegetation. It seems the only grounded claims of the protesters, to which any response can be made at all, regards wanton destruction of the environment. This they hold to be self mutilation and self cannibalism, since ‘nothing knows no pure division between builder and timber.’ One prosecutor interviewed this morning said he doesn’t know anything about elves or sprites, but he’s pretty pissed about the fact that he doesn’t exist. Another elderly protester allowed us to quote him in saying, "Don’t mind all the chatter now, keep your head about you. This is just the first coat of primer going on. And I think it’ll last, meself."
