Draco came to us during the summer of 2002, his overall condition was not
the best. He was very skinny and in need of some TLC and regular feeding. He was delivered from a zoo out
East and came to us after a long ride locked in a carrier. Needless to say he was not a happy boy and extremely upset when
we tried to approach his carrier.
We brought him home and unloaded him into his new home in the dark, he exited
the carrier and looked all around, he was grateful to be able to move and stretch again. Within 24 hours we were in the cage
with him building new ramps and platforms for him, he would just lay and watch us work.
His appetite for food was great. We were told he would not eat and he was
mourning the loss of his mate, I found that hard to believe, I was now feeding him 3 small meals a day to get him back to
a decent weight and slowly I increased the amount of food and began to lessen the feedings. By Winter he had really
worked hard on putting on a layer of fat, and he did a darn good job of it.
Hard to believe the photo below is the same cat, but it is. Draco greets me each day with head
buts, and takes food from my hands. He is a well mannered gentle boy.
