The above shot is from my video TW62, "An Introduction to China Rail". It shows a pair of JT (ex China Rail)
2-10-2's with an eastbound freight in the so called flat-lands east of Daban, not too far from from the "Pass" which
most railfans visit. One of the decorated locomotives leads.
This bottom shot is also from video taken on the same trip. Here you get to see a JT 2-10-2 departing Daban on a very
cold morning with the daily passenger train, an all day, all stops run. It is my guess that this is probably one of the last
regularly scheduled steam powered passenger trains remaining in the world. Diesels are now starting to take over parts of
the JT and eventually this train is expected to be converted to diesel.
