COURSE DESCRIPTION
A study of corporate telecommunications needs analyses to optimize
facilities, save money, and increase network's productivity.
Topics include financial analysis, methods of strategic planning
and management in the field. Examination and review of strategic
and integration plans to respond to the changes in technologies and
regulations. Detailed case studies will be applied to demonstrate
these concepts.
This course will cover
The over all aim of this course is to provide general understanding
of computer networking in an enterprise environment.
At the completion of this course, student will be able to do the following:
- Understand enterprise networking and its effect on organizations
- Understand the issues of implement, manage and operate in an enterprise networking environment
- Develop strategic plan for managing an enterprise network
- Plan the installation and upgrade for a large network
- Develop alternative ways of planning and scheduling to effective optimize the utilization of resources
- Prepare a financial analysis plan for network utilization
- Implement network security and access plan
- Integrate computing resources and facilities into an overall enterprise communications strategy
- Prepare a complete plan for network implementation and migration
- Develop a long term strategy to the enterprise networks
- Understand how common carries deregulation affects networking planning
- Assess the risks and analysis the cost
Course Format
This course will provide instruction through a combination of lecture,
research papers, exercises, and case analysis.
Class discussion and exploration of interesting detail will be encouraged.
