November 8, 2009  Arwah earned the 9th legs towards his RAE title in Napa!  He lost all his points for wooing in the ring, but placed 4th in Excellent B with 92 points & scored 93 points in Advanced  B.  ONLY ONE MORE DOUBLE Q TO GO!

October 21-25, 2009 I attended the Annual APDT Educational Conference & Trade Show in Oakland, CA.  Heard such speakers as Sue Sternberg, Steve White, Nicole Wilde, Pia Sylvani, Turid Rugaas, Ian Dunbar, Jean Donaldson, Bob Bailey, Kathy Sdao, etc. on a variety of topics, including canine cognition, health, behavior, training, etc.  Friday & Saturday Arwah came along with me & we participated in the APDT Rally Demos.

October 18, 2009 Arwah earned his second Excellent Jumpers leg with a 1st place!

October 11, 2009 Arwah, Scandal & Turbo all earned two legs towards their RL1 titles in our first ever APDT Rally Trials!!!  In the morning trial, Arwah placed 1st with 209 points (out of 210)!  Scandal scored 202 & Turbo scored 200!  In the afternoon trial, Arwah placed 2nd with 206 points (1st place was 207 points) & Scandal placed 3rd with 205 points!  Turbo qualified with 187 points & an enthusiastic performance!

I have my own "channel" (?!) on You Tube now, so if you would like to see video clips of the boys carting on the beach in WA, in Klamath, OR, Turbo's novice rally titling performance at last year's National in WA, Scandal's last Rally Excellent leg, Arwah's first Open obedience leg, Arwah's Open Jumpers With Weaves leg, Arwah's first weight pull, Arwah carting after the 2007 National Specialty in WI, Scandal playing with baby Turbo, Turbo's "grizzly" & "boing" tricks, etc., go to:  www.youtube.com/maryswinyer

July 12, 2009 Scandal passed the ATTS Temperament Test, earning a new title after her name: TT!  You can read about the various tests & scoring on their website: www.atts.org & also look at a list of breeds with how many have taken the test & what % have passed.

Great News:  Both the boys have been chosen to appear in Alaskan Malamute calendars for 2010!  Arwah is in Brown Trout, pictured laying on a ledge ( www.browntrout.com/calendars/product.asp?MGID=1&IID=9964 , click on "back cover") & a headshot of Turbo is in Pet Prints ( www.petprints.com/audio/alaskanmalamute.html ).

June 4, 2009 Scandal earned the 8th legs towards her RAE title at Skyline's trial at "Woofstock" in Vallejo!

Oct/Nov. 2008 we made a trip up to WA for the National Malamute Specialty.  First we carted on the beach in Grayland, then spent a week in Olympia.  Turbo earned his second rally novice leg with 96 points & 2nd place at the Regional Nov. 3.  Then on Nov. 5 at the National, he completed his RN title with 99 points & 1st place!!!  Arwah passed his Canine Good Citizen test.  We enjoyed seeing both boys' breeders as well as friends from past Nationals.  We also enjoyed meeting one of Turbo's sisters, another of Arwah's brothers & two of Arwah's neices!  On the way home we stopped in Fort Klamath, OR for more carting...  there was almost enough snow to remove the wheel assembly from my Grizzly Sled!!  This was Turbo's first time in snow!  It was a great trip, we'll miss it next year when the National will be located too far east for us to make the trek.

NEWS FLASH:  Arwah is pictured on the cover of the 2009 Petprints Alaskan Malamute calendar!  And he is "Mr. August" in the 2009 Browntrout Alaskan Malamute calendar!  Both photos were taken by Karen Hudson, Family Tails Photography (on my links page)!

*ANNOUNCING* Our first Working title from AMCA:  August 31, 2008 Arwah did his 4th 10 mile hike carrying 30% of his weight, completing the requirements for his Working Pack Dog title!  Little brother Turbo came along wearing a "jogger pack" & carrying brownies (very important fuel!)!

July 13, 2008 Arwah passed the American Temperament Test Society's Test (www.atts.org) with all "middle" scores (the best reaction/recovery, most stable, no extremes)!

June 8, 2008 Arwah celebrated his 4th birthday by earning his second Open Agility Standard leg with a 1st place!
