SERIES CURRICULUM

These groundbreaking, hands on workshops are combined to create a series that addresses a woman’s evolving musculo-skeletal needs. The comprehensive curriculum will explore anatomy, physiology, and pathology associated with Obstetrics and Gynecology. 

You will learn a safe and powerful integration of Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Acupressure, Neuromuscular and Myofascial techniques to facilitate a successful and productive bodywork treatment protocol for women.  Upon successful completion of the series you become a Certified Women’s Bodywork Therapist (CWBT) and able to effectively work with women through every phase of their lives.

 

Gynecologic Bodywork

  • Learn specific female and comparative anatomy including reproductive and breast tissue

  • Deepen understanding of menstrual cycle through menopause

  • Discuss psychosocial issues of body image in this culture

  • Palpate and explore the location of reproductive organs and surrounding musculature and fascia

  • Palpate and explore the location of breast tissue and surrounding musculature and fascia

  • Review areas of caution in pelvis, abdomen, chest and axilla

  • Learn endocrine relationship to reproductive cycle, breast tissue, and musculo-skeletal system

  • Learn pathologies associated with the reproductive cycle and breast tissue

  • In-depth understanding of common gynecologic surgeries

  • Learn bodywork of theories and protocol associated with the reproductive cycle, pathologies, surgeries, post-partum phases, menopause and breast health

  • Learn indications and contraindications in Gynecologic Bodywork

  • Learn comprehensive integration of techniques for women including reproductive health, menstrual pain, ovulation pain, pelvic pain, menopause, post-surgical scar-tissue reduction, and breast health

  • Learn acupressure points associated with women's cycle

  • Learn reflexology associated with women's anatomy

  • Learn aromatherapy considerations for common female complaints

  • Use integrative Bodywork for Women intake forms to assess a woman's current bodywork needs

  • Learn specific charting protocol for women's bodywork

  • Discuss homework strategies for all aspects of Gynecologic Bodywork

  • Discuss marketing strategies in the Ob/Gyn field

 

Obstetric Bodywork

  • Deepen understanding of reproductive system in relation to pregnancy

  • Discuss psychosocial issues of pregnancy in this culture

  • Discuss musculo-skeletal changes during pregnancy

  • Discuss endocrine system and hormones and how they relate to the musculo-skeletal system during pregnancy

  • Discuss pathologies associated with pregnancy

  • Discuss female power acupressure points associated with pregnancy

  • Learn bodywork theories associated with pregnancy

  • Discuss indications and contraindications of bodywork

  • Discuss and demonstrate positional indications for pregnancy

  • Learn TX techniques and protocol appropriate for pregnancy

  • Learn specific techniques for labor preparation and facilitation

  • Review compromised muscles during pregnancy

  • Discuss postpartum phases and respective musculo-skeletal implications

  • Continue to palpate and explore the location of reproductive organs and surrounding musculature and fascia

  • Learn bodywork theories associated with the postpartum phases

  • Review areas of caution in pelvis and abdomen

  • Discuss post C-section and vaginal delivery bodywork protocol

  • Learn TX techniques and protocol appropriate for postpartum phases

  • Discuss specific intake questions to assess a woman's current bodywork needs

  • Discuss specific charting protocol for women's bodywork

  • Discuss homework for women during pregnancy

  • Discuss indications and contraindications of bodywork in postpartum/post-surgery

Integrative Bodywork for Women Certification Series

When purchased together         $850.00 for 100 Total Hours *

 *The Integrative Bodywork for Women Certification Series is a total of 100 CE hours. The series and each course is designed to take together as the concepts build sequentially, yet courses I and II can be taken individually depending on your educational needs or time constraints.

You must complete both Gynecologic and Obstetric Bodywork and complete 25 case studies to be eligible for certification. If you have already taken a pregnancy massage certification course you may present a copy of certificate to Paula upon registration and opt out of a portion of Obstetric Bodywork instruction. All continuing education hours are approved by WA, AMTA, and NCBTMB Provider #150783-00.

All classes are limited in size and will be held at The Healing Arts Studio in Seattle.
