• SUMMER: A simple tunic of mottled sky-blue and white cloth and a wide, white leather belt with tan lacing; tan leather boots above the knee with white trim. The cloth of the tunic is frayed at the edges like cutoff blue jeans. Straw-colored woven grass armbands that belonged to her mate.
• WINTER: Adds a fur cape in cold weather.

JEWELRY: A turquoise pendant on a thong.

SPECIAL POSSESSIONS: The armbands are of great sentimental value to her.

WEAPONS: Sling and spear.

EQUIPMENT: Sling, spear, a small supply of salt and other spices, reed pipe. Usually carries a pouch of dried berries.

SKILLS: Excellent cook and preserver of foods, specializing in sun-dried and spice-preserved foods. She is also a "marker," able to find her way back to any spot with uncanny accuracy. Plays a reed pipe.

PERSONALITY: Currently somewhat subdued due to the recent (one turn ago) loss of her Recognized. As she gets to feel at home in the Holt she is opening up and finally shaking off her depression. She is something of a mother hen, still sometimes treats her son as if he were a child (he practically still is), and the same goes for her niece, since Sweetwind was a child the last time Vinetreasure saw her before coming to the Holt. Vinetreasure dotes on her son and any other children handy, but she's not indulgent: she'll chastise any child she thinks is out of line, and that goes for adults as well. Has a strong sense of right and wrong. She is happy mainly staying in the area of the Mother Tree and chatting with her new friends.

MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER: Idealist.

SEES SELF AS: A good mother.

HISTORY: Vinetreasure was born and raised on the veldt of the Swiftrunners, the younger by one hundred or so turns of her parent's two daughters. She lived with her parents until she Recognized and lifemated with Flake-Ears, and the couple struck out on their own. Their daughter Hawkeye was killed hunting buffalo; several turns after that they had No-Berries. One newgreen season Flake-ears sickened and died within a moon of bellyrot. Vinetreasure went mad with grief and withdrew from the world. No-Berries watched over her, and decided that since she got no comfort from their surroundings or any of their tribe that they should travel. So they did, finding Eight-of-Dreams one turn later.
