PERSONALITY:
Neap's an even-tempered elf, never moody. He never experiences the highs and lows that
afflict some. It's a fundamental strength of his disposition and an overall contentness
with life that prevents him from depression and despair.
On the other hand, unrequited love is the chain on Neap's soul which prevents him from
being truly happy. Neap is deeply in love with Rasa, but she can not return his love
Although she counts herself as his special
friend and likes him a lot, she is not physically attracted to him. It saddens
her a little to be a cause of pain to him, and she always hopes that he will someday
find happiness in love.
Neap can be earnest and quietly enthusiastic at times, like when a childbirth is impending or when the tribe is united for a gather or something. But typically he is calm, collected, and unflappable. Good at thinking things through, a reflective type.
Mainly a sea-going elf, usually only visits the jungle when Kazrel drags him out for a gathering expedition. Does enjoy climbing the cliff rocks from time to time.
Neap is a good elf to have around in a crisis of any sort, as he always keeps his head. A good warrior in battle although his weapons skills are only moderate, perhaps more useful in war as a strategist. Weaponsmaster Shask recognizes that Neap can be a useful resource.
Loves the tribe deeply.
HISTORY:
Delamone and Kantos AKA Panther had been Recognized
lifemates for centuries, but Delamone kept many lovemates
so when she found herself pregnant without
the benefit of Recognition, it was not too surprising that Kantos was not the father.
However, Kantos shared in the parenting duties as he had with his own children, and
Neap sees Kantos as his primary father.
Neap's mother, Delamone, was a healer, and he learned from her the essentials of non-magical healing and midwifery. She died when he was only 50 turns old. Neap continued his studies working with Kazrel, but by now he has learned just about all that she has to teach. Their herb-gathering expeditions together are now for mutual learning and just enjoying each other's company.
