Hiya!
Saw your page and really liked your description of how to draw Pini elves. I will add one comment to this already lucid and detailed analysis. In addition to the slightly different face proportions between elves and humans (thus the eyes are not -quite- at the center, but rather a little lower and taking up much more of the face) the fact that the eyes are often slanted adds another difficulty to the rendering. The way I found to deal with the problem was to draw a curved line across the face (actually two parallel curved lines for the upper and lower borders of the eyes) and draw the eyes (of whatever shape) within them. For nearly a year of the year and a half that I have been trying to draw EQ elves, I used slanted eyes for all of the elves I did. Predictably, they all looked more or less alike. Then I read through the BG again and began forcing myself to draw all kinds of elves. :) Although I didn't put many of my pictures up on my webpage, this gives you some idea of how I draw. Actually, I believe all my drawings on this page are of my half-goback I play on TwoMoons. Thus they do look more or less alike. If you are interested, I could send you some of my other elves. :)
