   • Expand Reading Initiative, Math and Science Initiative
     
     
   • College scholarships
     
     
   • Incentives for teachers to teach in high-poverty areas
     
     
   • Job security for other school personnel (no ‘04 layoffs)
     
     
5. More stable funding for Medicaid, which insures over 860,000 Alabamians
   
   
6. Increased funding for child care
   
   
7. Funding to cover growing number of children on AllKids (Alabama’s CHIP insurance plan)
   
   
8. Funding to continue services & programs:
   
   
   • Meals on wheels
     
     
   • Extracurricular public school activities
     
     
   • Child support collection staff
     
     
   • State troopers on the highways
