- Expand Reading Initiative, Math and Science Initiative
- College scholarships
- Incentives for teachers to teach in high-poverty areas
- Job security for other school personnel (no ‘04 layoffs)
- More stable funding for Medicaid, which insures over 860,000 Alabamians
- Increased funding for child care
- Funding to cover growing number of children on AllKids (Alabama’s CHIP insurance plan)
- Funding to continue services & programs:
- Meals on wheels
- Extracurricular public school activities
- Child support collection staff
- State troopers on the highways
