What's New

  1. Proposed Topics (Nominations) For Our Next Meeting:

    1. The Presidential Election (1)

      1. A member will be selected for each candidate to spend up to three minutes indicating why they support their candidate of choice.

      2. We will then discuss the election for up to 15 minutes.  Additional time can be requested once the class starts.

    2. The Energy Crisis (1)

      1. To drill or not to drill.  What are the best potential sources for our country to product the oil it will need in the near future.

      2. What are the best alternative energy technologies available to help solve the problem.

    3. The Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (1)

      1. Since the war is already in progress the question, should we have started it in the first place, has little remaining relevance. To help us decide what policy we should follow in the future we first need to decide if the Surge was a success and is there hope for an exit in which both the US and Iraqi people are generally satisfied with the results?

      2. What about Afghanistan?

    4. Traffic in Auburn (1)

      1. Read Auburn's transportation reform from The Corner News and be prepared to discuss this local issue..

If you wish to nominate topics please email  OLLIatAU What's New.  Each nomination counts as one vote for the topic and you can nominate more than one topic in your email.  Nomination counts along with the availability of reference material will determine the order that subjects are covered in class and how much time they will be limited to.  The lower a topic is on the list, the less the chance that it will be discussed.
