Assemblage Sculpture
Paper Dolls, Torsos, and Nostalgia
This is a series of sculptures in which I sought to utilize materials in a
manner that would deviate from their expected purpose, in order to reclaim them from their destined disposal. I took common
items from our daily lives and wove and stitched them into a new and surprising fabric, holding in tension the concepts of
disposability and longevity, leaving in question which will win out in the end.

Torsos These
are a collection of portraits that expose and feature, thoughts, feelings, roles and identities by isolating them one by one.
What lies guarded just beneath the surface is out in the open. Unlike people-watching, they give you the opportunity to look
close and long enough to reveal the hope, pain, or reminiscence they embody. From plaster bandages to strings of pearls, the
materials used for each piece are familiar in their presence and yet evocative in their new context.
