In 1995, Peggy Brown Chapman compiled an excellent research book,
"Bakers of Western Kentucky"
Shortly before Peggy's death, Bill Utterback <billco@arn.net>
bought the rights to Peggy's book and has had it reprinted in paperback. This is a
wonderful research book for anyone researching ANY Baker family in one of the following
counties:
Logan, Christian, Muhlenberg, Livingston, Henderson, Hopkins, Caldwell,
Union, Todd, Trigg, Crittenden, Lyon, McLean, and Webster Counties
& the Jackson Purchase in Kentucky
Write to Bill to purchase one of these books
(Please consider getting one to give to your local library or
genealogical society too!)

Below is the will of Nathaniel Wilson, father of Hannah Wilson White.

My (greatly reduced) mtDNA map from
Roots for Real (if you are
considering having your mtDNA - the female line - done, I suggest looking
at both Family Tree DNA
and Roots for Real. Each
company offers some different things in their reports and I can see where
one would suit some people better while the other would be ideal of other
people. For the male lines (Y-DNA), I recommend
Family Tree DNA
and hope all the Martin's and Goodman's reading this will join us in our
Projects! For other surname projects, check out the Family Tree DNA site
or the Duernick site at

I want to thank several Martin cousins for all they have
shared with me over the last many years. Among those, Mildred Martin of
Ripley, MS, Peggy Chapman of Lubbock, TX, Lois Haile of Albany, OR, Cindy
Conser of San Diego, CA, and Eva Hall of Tulsa, OK. Without them, I would
not have a fraction of what I do on the Martin line.
Much of my own family data was actually researched by my
mother, Ruth Mann Roberts, and by many cousins who have generously shared
with me.
A favorite for several years -
John Martin of Albemarle
County, VA.
