Allen McGill:

sunny morning

pigeons search the flagstones

for crumbs

sun sets

beyond the Sierras

somewhere a new sunrise

Oratorio nave

an old woman dusts

in silence

sounds of life

any time any day

San Miguel church bells

mariachis

each guitarist sings

in a different key

shadows dip and rise

across the cobblestones

colonial courtyard

San Miguel morning

pigeons swat each other

for tossed crumbs

colonial home

I go outside

to warm up

rainy season

hillside cobblestones

ride the rapids

parish church spires

soar into the blue

 street dogs doze

an'ya:

summer's end

the feral kittens as big
as their mother

fire in the forest
we sleep but with smoke
in our throats

O comely moth !
your wing patterns are such
a perfect match

each night my Creator
wears a different guise —
the softness of wind

night wind
a filament of spider silk
withstands its wrath

twilight sky
one pink cloud
with blue spiked hair

sultry afternoon –
reflected in her portrait
a lupine butterfly

an'ya . . . whose haigo (haiku nom de plume) loosely translates to 'a peaceful light in the moonless night', lives in Oregon,  USA.  She has been bestowed (too numerous to mention here) top world-class awards and honours for her haiku poetry, as well as other verse forms, not only throughout the United States, but in Japan, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, India, the UK, Brazil, and the Balkans.  an'ya's extended credits can be read at:

Ed Markowski:

autumn dusk

a pheasant fills a seam
between two clouds

fourth of july
i quietly celebrate
another sober day

winter carnival
a rainbow shimmers
from the mouth of an ice dragon

extra innings
a long fly ball morphs
into the autumn moon

misty morning
my wife decides
to cleanse my aura

Ed Markowski lives and writes in Auburn Hills, Michigan. His work has been featured in modern haiku, bottle rockets, and
frogpond.

Ron P. Nhim:

Foggy Morning

our footprints

disappearing with the waves

in the morning fog

morning on the swamp -

a canoe piercing through fog

searching for way home

chased by the sunrays,

the morning fog retreats

exposing a fox

fog covered stream -

only the sound audible

flowing endlessly

dark foggy morning –

only the glow of fog lamps

seen floating in air

At School

my school library –

second home during finals

loud snore woke me up

first day in Physics -

stars parading before me

I hide in the back

Calculus –

what use is it in real life?

hard to calculate

drowsy and drugged by

textbooks, students searching for

coffee on test day

Ms. Smith’s music class –

the first performance sounds like

dogs and cats fighting
