CONSULTATION We will consult with you to evaluate your project and identify all the factors that play into the design. For instance, location will affect the variety of wood and type of finish we recommend. Whether you choose from our catalog of design options, or ask that we design a one-of-kind entryway for your project, it is important that we spend this time reviewing your needs.
CONSTRUCTION Every Oregon Door and Art Glass project is custom built. Our craftspeople create every door and leaded glass panel one at a time to meet your precise demands. Each project is truly a work of art. We hand select the solid wood that best suits your application. Besides providing you with a wood that meets aesthetic considerations, we ensure that your project is made of the highest quality and strongest materials. We also keep in mind the environmental rigors the entryway will withstand and make recommendations for appropriate materials. For example, solid Burmese teak may be advisable for a coastal retreat that is subject to direct sun and salt mist. All doors are built using mortise and tenon techniques. For added strength, we use epoxy resin in all joints. Depending on the wood species, we may triple laminate the door rails to maintain straight components. Your entryway will arrive completely finished. We use a variety of finishes to match the demands of the entry location and type of wood. Many of our finishes are custom pigmented stains with auto enamel clear coats or marine-type Sikkens products. Before delivering your entryway, we fully assemble and pre-hang it in our shop. This gives us another opportunity to inspect the finished product to see that is exceeds our stringent requirements of perfection.
COMPONENTS Every entryway includes interior and exterior casings, ball bearing hinges, weather-stripping, boring for lock sets and complete exterior and interior finishes. We are pleased to provide you with a lock set for the entryway or you can provide a preferred set to us.
CARE Oregon Door and Art Glass's interior expectations of customer care are extremely high. All workmanship is guaranteed. Terms are standard - with half due when you place your order and the remainder due upon delivery. (Some projects may require a retainer for extensive design and consultation; the retainer is applied to the project cost.)
