"Moon Called" by Patricia Briggs
|
First book in a series of Mercy Thompson who is a walker that lives next door to the alpha male of a werewolf pack. Interesting
main character. Could be a really good series.

A series about Magiere (a dhampir) and Leesil (half human, half elf). Good start to the characters and the whole they live
in.

This book was beautifully written, and yet very sad. It's a worthwhile read if you can handle it.

A story about a child who goes missing, and how her sister goes about trying to find her 15 years later. This is a rather
short summary of the story, but that's the basics. I really liked the writing and the story in general.

A very interesting read. Even though I knew who were the good guys and the bad guys near the beginning, I still found the
premise interesting and fun to read. I didn't want to put the book down.

I enjoyed the whole story - trying to figure out who did what and just the characters themselves. I was introduced to Special
Agent Pendergast in "Relic" years ago, and I liked the character back then as well! This is more than a shoot-em
up book (which my husband loves!), but a story behind the gore.

"Gulliver's Travels" by Johnathan Swift
|
This was my classic for December. I was expecting to basically know the story since I've heard it told in different ways and
seen different cartoons about it. But, I found all of those only told the first two-thirds of the story. The last third was
not what I was expecting and I found it to be a rather interesting story of the human race. Especially considering that it
was written so long ago. Also, since the third part uses the word "yahoo" to describe something, I now think of
the book when I see Yahoo!

"Odd Thomas" by Dean Koontz
|
Even though my husband warned me it was a sad book, I still wanted to read it. I'm glad I did, but it still was sad. But I
enjoyed the main character who has a gift that he can see and touch the dead that are still around, but they can not talk.
He can also see and sense other things as well. I'm looking forward to the next book about this character. Especially since
my husband said the next book doesn't leave you quite as sad.

"The Traveler" by John Twelve Hawks
|
This is the first book of the series (I'm not sure how many will evenutally be in the series). I thought the idea was interesting,
and the book was hard to put down. It revolves around around four groups of people. People called Travelers, Harlequins who
protect them, Pathfinders who help them find the way and Tabula who are out to destroy them.

"Handling Sin" by Michael Malone
|
The story was about a son whose father takes off from the hospital with a young black female. To get his father to come back
(and not spend all of his inheritance), the son has to go on what seems to be some crazy errands before meeting his father
in New Orleans. I thought the book was mostly funny and well written. I kept wanting to read on to see what happens next.

"The Mermaid Chair" by Sue Monk Kidd
|
I wasn't sure I was going to like this book because of the story itself, but I did like the book a lot. I identified with
the main character, and then got upset with her over her choices in the middle! But, I like the way Sue Monk Kidd
writes and I thought she handled the story very well. I've already passed this book on to my friend!

This book pulled me in right from the beginning. Originally I thought it was going to be kind of a sappy romance type book,

I enjoyed this book just as much as her others in the series. Actually, it was better than a few of the past ones! I was going
to read this sooner, but it's my daughter's book (she has the whole series), and she couldn't find it for a while. Seeing
that #10 in the series is getting ready to come out, I ventured in her room to find it, and it was just out of place on her
bookshelf!
