Better
I started a frustration afghan this week. I have been working on a red sweater for the last year and a half, but I was so
upset/frustrated that I picked up a bag of leftover yarn, picked out two, held them together and started working on an afghan.
It was my older daughter who pointed out that I make afghans sometimes when I'm frustrated - it's why we have so many! But,
she said she likes them and everyone seems to use them. This one is going to be really ugly, but I'm having fun doing it and
feel like I'm cleaning up some extra yarn! Oh, and on the upside, I'm not feeling as pissy and actually had a nice week last
week. I got my tires replaced (and my husband not only said he'd replace my Christmas money that I used next month, but he
took me to breakfast while I waited for the tires), got my oil changed and new windshield wipers put on. Now today my youngest
is going to wash it (she wants money to pay her credit card bill). So, my car is all fixed up, I was able to run more than
I had thought (I ran 9 miles this morning - I have never run that much without stopping!) and I'm using up yarn. Yup, I feel
pretty good this week. The only thing I wasn't able to do was to pick up a book and read. I'm just out of the mood for reading.
I finished over 52 books so far, which is good for two of my challenges, but I have one left from the tbr pile challenge.
But, I have until the end of the year, so hopefully I'll not only pick up that book, but some others I have up there as well!

Pissy
The title probably says it all. I am pissy tonight. I shouldn't be, but there it is. I wanted to be out celebrating my 8 mile
run (no walking breaks!), but I am home playing on the computer and doing sudoku puzzles. I don't even feel like reading.
My husband feels bad (misunderstanding the last couple of days, kind of bad this afternoon), so he's out picking up Chilis
take out. I am having my margarita- because with out good refrigerator broke and us using the little one in the garage (long
story, you don't want to ask why we haven't just bought a new one yet), there was no ice to make any other drink. The margarita
mix was in the refrigerator so I made a small one of that and put some water in an old ice tray I found (and cleaned) and
put that in the freezer. In the meantime I've asked my husband to get a glass of ice with the dinner from Chilis, but I think
he'll be too embarrassed to ask! So, I am in a pissy mood but trying to smile. I did a good run today and I will be signing
up for the half in December. And tomorrow I will enjoy football and then the heavy work week starts again. There, it's showing
again! I am grateful for my relaxing time. . . I will set something up for next Saturday night though! I can't for the week
after, my husband is having poker. Unless I want to go hang out at my friend's house. I should see if she'll be in town that
weekend!

Christmas/Valentines/Christmas Sweater
So, with all of the football I've been watching (plus a few new television shows) I've been knitting quite a bit! I finished
the front of the sweater and am over half way through the back. Since it's a long sleeve I'm sure that will take a bit, but
at least I'm making good progress, finally. And maybe it is partly because of football, but maybe partly because I have another
sweater pattern that I'd like to do at the same time as my friend! So, we'll see how fast I can finish it!
Reading and running - not much and doing fine. I haven't really read anything in the last week, but I have a lot of books
I do want to read. With football, the new shows and running I just haven't put forth the energy that I should on reading.
Not to mention the running around during my lunch hour when I like to read as well. But the running is going well. Saturday's
run in the morning felt really good. I did over six and a half miles and felt good! I'm seriously thinking about doing a half
marathon with some of my coworkers. I think it's nice they invited me along and it's nice to be able to talk to others about
running and training. Even if I only add a few miles in the next month (the half is in December), I think I'll be okay to
do it. I'm running the miles now without stopping, where last time I walked one minute for every mile. It would be nice if
my daughter joined me as well. She's talking about it, but then she got sick so I'm not sure how far she is in her training.
We'll see though!
