Long couple of weeks
It's been a long couple of weeks at work, and it looks to be like this for the next month. Bummer, but again I can't complain too much because for the most part it's not an overly stressful job. But boy is it ever so right now! So, by the time I come home I try to push myself to run a couple of times a week and make it to the gym (okay, only once did I completely back out of going!), and try to get some relaxing time at home. I will admit I haven't knitted too much or read as much either. I've been playing more sudoku which helps to calm my mind. But, I did finish one book from my tbr pilel. "The Dogs of Babel." I didn't really care for it and I was too concerned about the poor dogs in the book. Tonight my husand is cooking us steaks and steamed vegis (of course with red wine), and then I plan to either pick up my knitting and watch some television that I've recorded, or pick up a new book. I have time to decide!

Another quick update
Not too much to post. I've been knitting just a little bit, but not much. Same sweater I've been working on. I guess I need something small and quick to work on. I suppose that should be a baby sweater for my coworker that is pregnant, but I haven't quite picked out a pattern, or yarn for that matter, that I'm excited about yet. Oh well. I will.

Reading is going well. I'm back on schedule reading about one book a week again. I just finished "Step on a Crack" by James Patterson. I liked it, but it was a bit sad to start a series. I am also reading some non-fiction books as well right now on personal finances. It's interesting, and I'm going to try and follow what I've been reading. I have a good start - the book says the most important part to start is to have a checking and savings account and to actually balances those. And believe it or not, I do. To the penny! The part I'm reading about now is talking about paying off credit cards. That's not going to be easy, but I'm going to do it! But, that's as far as I've gotten in the book so far - which is about half way through!

My Birthday
My birthday was this past Sunday and this year we just spent two days celebrating! Sunday we went to dinner with the family at Market Broiler. I thought the fish was good, but apparently those that got steak didn't like it as well. Oh well. Next time I'll try Joe's Crab Shack! Yesterday, my husband and I went to the Norton Simon Museum and then to the Yardhouse for dinner. We had a really nice time! I'm off work again today, but just taking it easy instead of going someplace (I have "use-it-or-lose-it" vacation time at work). So, I'm catching up on my computer stuff, and then I'll go to a quiet place and read! Oh yeah, I did run and then go to the gym this morning, so I guess it's not a complete "rest" day!!

Almost done!
I've almost finished that spare yarn afghan. It's all put together, as large as it's going to be, and 2 of the 3 rounds of edging are done. So, it should be finished by this weekend! That's good. I haven't had time to read much though this last couple of weeks. I'm going to try and fix that this next week (just not having to fill out the fafsa and balance my checkbook from the last FOUR months will help with that)! And yet, I've been doing good on running, so that's good as well! Especially since we're doing that 10k in July and I'm up to 6 miles for my long run. Now for my husband and daughter to get up there as well since they'll be running with me!

Oh, and I've done some work on my sweater as well! As soon as I finish the afghan I'll be concentrating on the sweater!
