A Long Week!
Last week was a really long week. Work was long, the kids fighting at home (okay, mostly one, but I won't go there). Then my oldest got sick and we couldn't go to yoga and my husband started to get sick. Then comes the weekend and I didn't get out and do any exercise either. But I knitted, crocheted and read quite a bit. And not like I was slacking off on exercise either - I went to the gym three times last week (two times for close to 2 hours). So I think maybe I just needed this weekend to recover. Next week looks to be really busy for just the two days I'm at work, but hopefully it will be calmer on the home front! Then I'm taking off Wednesday to cook (three apple pies!), get a pedicure, and take a hike with a friend. Thursday of course is Thanksgiving. Dinner here, then joining my sister-in-law and her group in the evening for dessert. Shopping early Friday with my oldest and then recovering and relaxing the rest of Friday!! It looks to be a lot of fun, if I can just get through these next two days!! Oh, and with all of crafts I did this last week, I finished a yoga bag for a gift for my friend and started mine (I need more yarn. . . ) and I finished my silk shell. And, I don't like the shell!! I finished it before I let myself start on my red sweater because I've been working on this shell for too long, but I just don't like the yarn and how it turned out. I'll try it on some time this week and hope that maybe I can use it as a layering piece, but I'm not overly hopeful or overly upset about it! But I was happy to cast on for my new sweater and do a few rows of that. I like the way the yarn feels when I'm working with it and I like the color!! And if I can't finish it before Christmas (which is really possible), I can wear it for Valentine's Day!

Joined a gym!
Well, I finally did it. Or I should say we did it. My daughter and I joined a gym this week. Mainly for the yoga and pilates classes, but we are also using the nicer treadmills and elliptical machines as well! But, we'll still go to the small gym twice a week with my husband. Knitting/crocheting projects are coming along as well. I'm playing around with a design for a birthday gift, but not sure I have the right yarn to make it work (and I don't get paid for another week and a half - past her birthday!), so I'm not sure I'll be able to do that. But I also have yarn for another Christmas gift that I want to get started on, that red sweater I want to start, and I need to finish the silk sweater. For that I have to sew the seems together and then knit around the arms and neck openings. I just don't feel like doing that yet. Oh, and I've been reading as well! :-)

Yet another quick update!
First, on a good note I'm back to running decent mileage again (4 - 4.5 miles) and I'm rather glad about that! But, this last week I didn't have much time to run, workout, read or knit! I was going here and there (Halloween - dinner with my Mom. . . Amy Tan talk and book signing a couple of days later), so I did not make much progress this week. But, I had a fun week! I did need some quiet time to recover though, and I ended up getting my hair roots touched up on Saturday morning, then spent a couple of hours shopping for stocking stuffers and advent calendar items. That last one always takes me a while to find 25 nice, little items. But I got it half way done this weekend, so that was good. Plus, at one of the stores I bought a really pretty bottle of balsamic vinegar, a scone mix (and a small bottle of clotted cream) and some Italian Christmas bread (I forget the name of that again). It's a small loaf, but I like it toasted and it was only $2.50 so I bought it!!
