More knitting
I've been doing more knitting this past week. Each night I try to do just a little on the silk sweater, and then I switch
to my Christmas gifts. It's coming along good! As for other areas. . . my running is hanging in there. My knee is doing better,
and yesterday I bought a new, stronger knee brace that I think will help. I may try running tomorrow, or wait until Monday
evening. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. And my reading is going slow. Although I did finish a good book, "The Memory Keeper's
Daughter," but I haven't been reading quite as much since the knitting/television has picked up. At least I am still turning
off the television when there isn't a show on that I want to watch, but with the shows that I do like, it seems I watch about
an hour a night. Oh well!!

Another mini-vacation
So, my husband and I took another extended weekend vacation. This time we went to Temecula for wine tasting. It's a lot closer
than we thought, but it was a really nice weekend. We ended up with a few bottles of cream sherry and a couple of bottles
of almond champagne as well as some of the other typical wines. We bought mostly white wine, but I don't know if that's because
we didn't find a winery with a red I liked, or if it's just Temecula in general that makes a better white than red. Either
way, I'm happy with what we bought! And normally I don't like champagne, but this almond champagne is really good!! And, I've
been knitting and crocheting as well. I've finished one Christmas gift and making progress on my silk sweater. I would really
like to start my red sweater, but I want to be at least 90% done with the silk one before I start!

More projects
As it gets closer to Christmas (and it's just over 2 months away), I start to think about what projects I want to make,
and mail, before the holidays. I've thought about quite a bit, haven't quite decided on some, but have picked a couple of
things to do. So, I'll just list them on my table as "xmas gift". And, I have yarn for another sweater I want to make, but
I'm waiting until I get at least 75% done with my silk sweater.
On another subject, I did finish the half-marathon (yeah!!!) and I did a good job if I do say so myself. I ran the first
8.15 miles without walking and my knee didn't hurt until mile 11. But, I gave myself a few days off of running, my knee felt
okay, I went to run a simple 3 miles and my knee hurt after 2.5. Bummer. That was Thursday, and it's Sunday night now. My
knee feels okay, but I'm still not ready to run. I hope to do 2-3 miles tomorrow, but I really want my knee to heal,
so we'll see. On the other hand, I don't want to lose the fitness that I'm at now, so I need to be sure that if I don't run
I at least keep doing my weight exercises and at least walk if I can't run!

Yarn and cats
Just a quick post to show the reason I try not to keep hanks of yarn around my girls' cats!
But now the yarn is nicely wrapped in a ball and waiting for me to make it into my hat (I had one before out of this
yarn and I shrunk it!).
Now back to my football games and my daughter's afghan! Oh yeah. . . and I finished my burgundy sweater!! As soon as
it stays a bit cooler I'm going to wear it to work!
